Bored World-Class Athletes Take on the Toilet Paper Challenge

The Toilet Paper Challenge is the latest fad to hit the internet with various athletes taking part in juggling a roll of toilet paper.

The challenge has become popular over the last few days with people hoarding toilet paper due to the coronavirus. Professional soccer athletes are especially taking to it to show off their ball juggling skills a little differently than usual. The goal is to see how many times you can kick a roll of toilet paper in the air, without dropping it.

Well-known soccer players like Lionel MessiRicardo Puig, and even coach Thierry Henry jumped in on the action. Whether you’re a fan of the sport or not, it’s nice to see people find a way to have fun while staying indoors.

[widget path=”global/article/imagegallery” parameters=”albumSlug=every-delayed-movie-due-to-coronavirus-so-far&captions=true”] [poilib element=”accentDivider”]

Soccer athletes aren’t the only ones doing the Toilet Paper Challenge with other sports getting involved too. A WWE Backstage host made a video on Instagram before her husband, professional wrestler, Jon Moxley, made a surprise appearance.

Professional NHL players are putting their own twist on the challenge by using a hockey stick instead of their feet. But who needs a hockey stick to juggle when you’re a tennis player with a racket? Everyone has their own way of doing the Toilet Paper Challenge even if that’s DJ Diplo with an animated version. We can’t all be skilled jugglers after all.

It’s only a matter of time until people in the video game industry start getting involved. But what will pro gamers and developers use to try to keep a roll of TP in the air? Maybe controllers or headsets, who knows?

A number of sports leagues have announced delays and temporary season suspensions such as the NBAMLB, and NHL to name a few. The 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games were also postponed to 2021. However, some athletes are still finding ways to compete with F1 drivers racing digitally.

Stay safe and healthy during the current COVID-19 pandemic by following guidelines from organizations like the CDC.

Vin + Omi Work With Team GB Athletes on Recycled Sports Clothing

GOOD SPORTS: The British label Vin + Omi has another eco-minded collection in the pipeline. For fall 2020 the designers have allied themselves with Team GB Olympians and are whipping the athletes’ unused clothing and equipment from sponsors into runway-ready punk pieces.
Omi described the fall 2020 show, which takes place at The Savoy hotel on Feb. 14, as its “largest, most recycled” yet. Team GB sailor Hannah Mills and fencer James Honeybone, who walked in Vin + Omi’s spring/summer 2020 show, contributed their unused pieces.
“We utilized every single bit of a fencing kit — from the blades, to the sabre, to the masks. Everything was chucked into” an entire look, said Omi.
Other highlights include a coat that was made by hand from a sail, as well as a jacket sporting all the Team GB sponsors’ logos jumbled together.
“The pieces are designed to be slightly unwearable to show the awkwardness of the sport being bastardized by advertising,” Omi added. “It’s amazing to see how much branding one sport has at one event.”
For 16 years, the London-based designers have been attempting to push the limit of sustainable clothing production and have dressed celebrities including Beyoncé and Michelle Obama. They also work with private

Olympic, Paralympic Italian Athletes Close Emporio Armani Show

“It was incredible to see obviously the pride of the Italian nation and of Mr. Armani, who is the real image of Italy, coming out with the athletes. It was incredibly powerful – I got goosebumps,” admitted Tom Bateman after the Emporio Armani show.
The actor was referring to the finale of the show, which was closed by 20 Olympic athletes and nine Paralympians of the Italian team wearing the new EA7 Emporio Armani uniforms for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, with graphics paying homage to Japan. Previously, Giorgio Armani has dressed the Italian athletes at the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Summer Olympics and Paralympics, and the Sochi 2014 and Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics and Paralympics. The athletes walked to the tune of “Love is in the Air,” around a stage lit up to reproduce the colors of the Italian flag.

14 Badass Girl Athletes Show Off Their Game Faces

The 2015 Women’s World Cup begins on June 6, and to commemorate the occasion, the clothing brand Wildfang is showcasing some badass young female soccer players.

The company’s CEO Emma McIlroy teamed up with photographer Andrea Corradini to create “#GameFace,” a series of fierce photos of 14 athletes ages 5 to 14. “We are beyond excited about the Women’s World Cup. It’s one of the most amazing moments in sports and women get to take center stage,” McIlroy told The Huffington Post, adding, “We wanted to look forward to the next generation of female footballers and, as you can see, the future of the sport is in good hands.”

The creators reached out to local soccer coaches in Portland, Oregon and invited their young female players to show off their “game faces,” which they define on the Wildfang website as “their most authentic moment, right before they stepped out onto the pitch.”

Tess, 11: “Cheetahs are my favorite animal — they’re almost as fast as I am.”

Unsure if anyone would show up to the photo shoot, McIlroy and Corradini were pleasantly surprised when over a dozen bold, young athletes stopped by — most coming right before or immediately after practice. With “zero styling,” each girl proudly displayed her purest game face.

“They showed up with such innocent and fierce pride,” Corradini told The Huffington Post. “They were confident, yet giggly. Independent, yet bonded with their teammates. They had no reservations about just being themselves and letting me photograph them in their most natural and authentic way.”

“We wanted to show young females as they truly are — raw, powerful, beautiful,” McIlroy added, noting that she hoped the photo series would provide a refreshing alternative to the images of “young women in pink and wearing princess dresses” that seem so pervasive in today’s society.

The Wildfang CEO also said she hopes other women can “see a little of themselves” in the hardworking female athletes depicted in #GameFace. “We hope they remind them to be a little bolder and tougher and ultimately be really proud of being who they are,” she continued. “Our hope is these images leave you feeling inspired to go kick ass in your day.”

Keep scrolling to see the badass young women of #GameFace and visit the Wildfang blog to learn more about the series.
