Tracy Morgan Brings Brian Fellow Back For Hilarious ‘SNL’ Sketch

Not only did Tracy Morgan give us a “30 Rock” reunion on “Saturday Night Live” this weekend, he also brought back one of his most beloved characters: Brian Fellow

For the sketch, Fellow, “an enthusiastic young man with a sixth-grade education and an abiding love for all God’s creatures,” spoke to both a live beaver and a live camel.

As per usual, Fellow showed little interest in the actual animals on his “Safari Planet” show and tried to keep the attention on himself by repeating his signature line, “I’m Brian Fellow!” The camel did try to steal the spotlight, but Fellow wasn’t having it.

“I can’t see, camel!” he said as he led the desert animal out of the frame.

Brian Fellow was first introduced to the “SNL” audience back in 1999, and through the years, the sketch has included appearances by celebrities like Jason Sudeikis, Matt Damon and Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Jon Swihart’s Instagram “Selfies” of Greg Escalante Are Hilarious

2015-10-15-1444913012-1226731-Ohthehumanityselfie.jpg

Selfie at the Hindenburg Disaster

Two years ago, as part of his preparation for painting an oil portrait of art dealer Greg Escalante, artist Jon Swihart took some photos of his subject: LOTS of them. “The session went on for two hours,” Escalante recalls, “and near the end I started goofing off.” Swihart came away from the shoot with dozens of digital images of Escalante including some in which Escalante mocked his own vanity by taking selfies. “Greg loves to laugh,” Swihart recounts, “and the whole thing was really just a lot of fun.” When it was all over, Escalante didn’t give the photos a second thought: “I just forgot about them.” he states.

The painted portrait that came out of experience was everything that Escalante expected and more. Escalante, who feels strongly that Swihart is one of today’s greatest painters, knew that Swihart had a reputation for producing flawless, mesmerizing portraits, and that is exactly what he got.

Portrait of Greg Escalante, 2014 Oil on panel, 12″ x 8.5,” Collection of Greg Escalante

But even before the oil painting was finished, Escalante got a “bonus” portrait that he hadn’t bargained for. He opened his e-mail one day to find that Swihart had photoshopped him into the indelibly memorable black and white news photo in which Lee Harvey Oswald is shot by Jack Ruby. Escalante appears on the left edge of the frame, gleefully taking a selfie while a tragedy unfolds behind him. As a parody of the extreme narcissism and self-absorption of self-selfie takers it works…

2015-10-15-1444914022-3598010-ScreenShot20151015at5.59.09AM.png

Selfie at the Oswald Shooting

Although the image was meant as a joke between friends, Escalante put the image on Instagram, and the reactions came quickly: it was really funny. Of course, some also took the image seriously — as art even — and the image ended up on display in an Arizona museum as part of an exhibition about guns in art.

Since the appearance of that first “selfie” Swihart has created well over 150 more images, placing Escalante in iconic photos, in the presence of celebrities and disasters, and has also inserted him into famous works of art. After an intense day in the painting studio, Swihart says that photoshopping the selfies are a way of “unwinding.” Escalante agrees: “For Jon, making one of these is like smoking a cigarette.”

Many of the images have the flavor of time travel, including one that Escalante particularly savors: “The one with Dali and Frida Kahlo is my favorite,” he explains, “I wish that had happened.”

2015-10-15-1444915589-9354915-daliescalantekahlo.jpg

With Dali and Kahlo

The “selfies” series given Greg Escalante and his friends a lot of laughs: it’s a gag-gift that keeps on giving. In one offshoot of all this Escalante even has a new family that includes a baby boy — Mofo — born into the world with an Escalante hat and glasses. In subsequent images, Escalante’s new “family” even includes a possum and a coyote.

2015-10-15-1444919297-9725838-baby.jpg

With Baby Mofo

For Jon Swihart, the whole project has been a lark, and also a reputation changer. When he attends art openings and people say “I’m a big fan of your work” it is often the Instagram selfies that they are talking about, not his paintings. At the Gregorio Escalante Gallery in Chinatown, where 40 of the selfies are now on display along with a selection of Swihart’s oils something remarkable is happening: viewers are breaking into uncontrolled laughter.

Greg Escalante, who hears the laughter in his upstairs office reflects that “There are very few shows that make people just laugh out loud. People are laughing like they are at a carnival, from one end of the show to the other.” Escalante is a very good sport — he doesn’t mind being the center of all these jokes — and in the process he has become the “Zelig” of Instagram, with time travel as his reward.

Hilarious Hoverboard Fails: Watch These People Eat Dirt

The future is now. And the future hurts.

These hover board users learned that the hard way. Watch them hilariously fall while trying to stay upright on the mystical device that is the self-balancing scooter.

Seriously, what are these things? As if we needed something even more daunting than the Segway.

Regardless, they do look pretty fun — if you can last more than two seconds. But it’s unlikely that any of these people will be joining the ranks of this hip hover board dance crew anytime soon.

You kids and your newfangled technology.

A Grown Man Dresses Like Prince George for a Week and the Results Are Hilarious

Beyond being ridiculously cute and very cuddly (we imagine), Prince George is on the verge of becoming a fashion superstar at the ripe old age of two!

First, he caused a craze for Crocs after being photographed wearing them with his mom, Duchess Kate, and now, he’s inspiring grown men to dress just like him.

Well, it’s one grown man (so far): Max Knoblauch, a 23-year-old Brooklynite and writer for Mashable. Knoblauch scanned “Macy’s, the Gap, and the Internet” for adult-size versions of George’s wee little rompers, shortalls, and novelty intarsia sweaters to dress like the mini-royal for a week—and in the name of journalism and fashion fandom, he chronicled the entire experience.

The results? Hilarious!

Hilarious Black Dude Answers White People’s Most Burning Questions

“Have you ever had a question you wanted to ask the one black friend that you know, but refrained because you didn’t want to run the risk of sounding racist?”

That’s the question Gabriel Green asked at the College Union Poetry Slam Invitational finals  in March. Green, a student at Eastern Michigan University, gives hilarious responses to common mysteries he assumes white people are dying to solve. For example, why are black people so good at basketball?

His explanations are funny, but also serve to demystify the black experience for his white peers.

On his list of questions is, “Do black people hate all white people?” to which Green says, “Of course we don’t, we just hate the people who perpetuate or refuse to acknowledge the history of social, political, and racial f**kery placed against us.”

And yes, Green reminds white audience members, if you have to ask if something is racist… it is.

The competition included several other talented poets that performed pieces about the challenges of black experience. Head over to Button Poetry to watch those.

Dog Is Terrible At Howling And It’s Hilarious

“He opens his mouth, but the words won’t come out.”

We’re pretty sure Eminem wasn’t thinking about puppies when he wrote “Lose Yourself,” yet that line perfectly sums up the struggle of this dog, who is having one howl of a hard time making himself heard.

It isn’t for lack of effort. But try as he might, this canine’s howl sounds downright duck-like.

Don’t worry, dog. One day it’ll all click and you’ll sound just like the sirens you hold so dear.

Teen’s Hilarious Senior Quote Puts New Spin On Coming Out Of The Closet

Maxwell Barrett wanted to leave high school “with a bang.” He succeeded.

The 18-year-old senior at Raritan High School in Hazlet, New Jersey, tweeted a screenshot of his yearbook photo and accompanying quote on Tuesday:

The quote, credited to “Unknown,” reads: “Of course I dress well, I didn’t spend all that time in the closet for nothing.”

“I wanted to go out with a bang,” Barrett, who is indeed very snappily dressed in the photo, told The Huffington Post. “I had never done sports, or clubs. I was always just an art student. I wanted to go out in a way people would remember me by!” He added that he didn’t come up with the quote completely on his own, but had rephrased a similar quote he’d seen online.

Barrett said he was “out” as gay to most people around him. Though he had never officially told his parents, he said he could tell that they already knew. “It was just more of a confirmation to [my parents] than a coming-out story,” he said.

And his parents’ reaction?

“They said it was the best one in the yearbook and that they were proud of me,” Barrett said. He mentioned that his classmates also loved it, and that even teachers had pulled him aside to congratulate him and comment on the quote.

Barrett said a yearbook supervisor initially told him they weren’t going to run the quote because of its “shock value.”

However, Hazlet Township Public School Superintendent Bernard Bragen could not confirm that happened.

“My understanding is that it was never pulled,” he said.

Kanye West-Inspired Desserts Are Hilarious And Delicious

Imma let you finish but … Kanye West-inspired desserts are the greatest desserts of all time. At least that’s what one ice cream parlor — NYC-based Morgenstern’s Finest Ice Cream — happens to think.

West is known for his love of ice cream, so in honor of the rapper’s 38th birthday, Morgenstern’s teamed up with online foodie site First We Feast to create “Kanye’s Beautiful But Darkly Lit Ice Cream Parlor.” The Yeezy-inspired treats (and hilarious toppings) will be available to the masses from Monday, June 8 at noon to Saturday, June 13 as part of #KanyeIceCreamWeek.

When The Huffington Post spoke with Morgenstern’s owner, Nicholas Morgenstern, and First We Feast’s Chris Schonberger, the two said that the partnership came about naturally. “Since Morgenstern’s already has the G.O.O.D. Music-referencing New God Flow, and we love Nick’s ice cream, we figured there’d be no better shop to team up with to bring these flavors to life,” said Schonberger.

The Kanye items have kept the shop very busy, as Morgenstern says they’ve already sold out of the “I Am A God Cream Croissantwich” and the “All Day Vanilla Cake.”

Scroll through the menu and descriptions provided by First We Feast below, and see which item would be your favorite.

Melissa McCarthy thought she had the only two hard copies of her first headshots, but, oh, was she wrong.

During Friday’s episode of “The Graham Norton Show,” the host dug up two of McCarthy’s first headshots, which are almost too good to be true. The “Spy” star shared the story behind the photos, explaining that she’d posed as two of her comedy characters from the time. One was Carol, a woman who passed out cheese samples in a grocery store.

For the other pic, a 26-year-old McCarthy decided to wear a mini cowboy hat from a Western Barbie and turn the boots into earrings.

Kendall Jenner And Kourtney Kardashian Have Quite The Height Difference In Hilarious Instagram Photo

There’s definitely a family resemblance among the Kardashian and Jenner sisters. But there’s one major area where they don’t all look alike.

In a new Instagram photo, Kim Kardashian appeared to poke fun at the height difference between Kourtney Kardashian and her sister/supermodel Kendall Jenner.

Both Kardashian and Jenner are clad in only in a white button-down shirt, but Jenner (notably wearing heels) towers over her older sister. The perfect caption for the photo reads simply “Twins.”

Kourtney Kardashian also recently ruled Instagram with a very different kind of picture. The star channeled 2001 MTV Video Music Awards-era Britney Spears by posing with a giant yellow snake.

It looks like Kardashian may have been the shorter member of that pair, too.

Moms Are ‘On Fleek’ In Hefty’s Hilarious New Ad Campaign

A new ad campaign from Hefty shines the spotlight on moms. But these aren’t regular moms, they’re cool moms.

At first glance, the parents featured in the series of ads embody the cardigan sweater-wearing, PTA president trope of motherhood, but when they speak, they whip out wild party stories full of today’s teen slang — from “bae,” “FOMO,” and “on fleek” to “hangry,” “cray” and “bye Felicia.”

“Traditionally mothers are cast in one light: wholesome caregivers for their children. But the reality is moms are much more complex and multifaceted,” Hefty Cups director of marketing Lynnette Hinch says in the press release for the ad campaign. “Their social networks are extremely important to them, and time spent with friends is often a welcome escape from the drudgery of daily life. We decided to activate that sense of fun, juxtaposing their routine tasks with recaps of epic ragers from the night before.”

And what a strange juxtaposition it is.

Women in Comedy Spotlight: My Hilarious Coworker Trish!

This post originally appeared on Reductress.com.

2014-07-28-trishwoman.jpg

It seems like almost every stand-up show features at least one female comedian these days. Now that Tina Fey stars in movies, it’s just a matter of time before women are being funny all over this great nation! It’s important that we support lesser-known “comediennes” before they explode into the humor scene, which is why I’d like to introduce you to the ridiculously hysterical Trish Jenkins, my fellow billing specialist at Content Innovations Inc. You’re gonna get a kick out of her!

Trish is outrageous! She will say anything, to anyone — she doesn’t even care! Her first week at CII, this hot UPS driver comes into the lobby, like, “I’ve got a package for Trish Jenkins?” And Trish looks him up and down and says — I SWEAR TO GOD THIS IS TRUE — she says, “Ooh, I hope it’s the one I’m thinking of!”

I’m like “Trish, oh my God! Are you insane? That is a uniformed official, Trish! You can’t say that!”

But she DID! She did say that! I was dying laughing, obviously, we all were. I was like, “You need to be doing this professionally!” Trish is edgy without being trashy, and I think we can agree that’s something we could all use more of in comedy.

Plus, she appeals to all types of audiences! Last May, we get out early for Memorial Day weekend and go get pedicures at this Korean salon. Can I say it’s Korean? Anyway, we sit down and Trish, FOR REAL, she goes, “So you’ll paint all my toes? Even my … CAMEL TOE?” I’m serious! I’m serious! She said that!

The lady didn’t understand our American slang, so Trish — hold on, I can’t even remember it without dying laughing — Trish hikes up her leggings and actually indicates the outline of her labia! Cross my heart! Now the lady is laughing, I’m freaking ROLLING on the floor like “Trish, you have no filter! You’re too much, and it’s amazing. Why aren’t you putting this in a comedy skit?”

Another reason Trish NEEDS to be out there, sharing her comedy with the world? She brings the realness. Like, BRINGS it! Last week, it’s Joel’s going away party, we all go out for Korean barbecue. Can I say it’s Korean? Anyway, Trish gets hilariously drunk, like that super-edgy, raw blackout drunk that most of us wouldn’t dare to try. Then she starts going around the table doing “insult comedy” and I’m like, wha-oh! Hide your kids and make peace with your God — Trish is on the warpath!

First she does this whole routine demanding to know why RJ never called her after they hooked up in the supply closet, then she tells Joel “BAD luck at your new job, you fat shit,” and THEN she does this pratfall into her short ribs and stays there for two hours! I’m screaming laughing, like, “Oh my God, Trish, what are you doing? You’re gonna get fired, oh my God!”

And she DID! She did get fired! But everything happens for a reason, and the world hasn’t seen the last of the insanely amazeballs Trish Jenkins. Are you listening, Lorne Michaels and Nick Cannon? Don’t let this raw female talent go to waste!

Dear Mom: My Son’s Hilarious Summer Camp Letter

2014-06-07-Campphoto.jpg

Last year my 8-year-old son went to summer camp. It was the first time he had been away from home for more than a night. An hour after he left, I missed him. By the time I went to bed, I found myself wandering into his bedroom, just to feel close to him. As the days passed, I wrote to him daily. Each hour dragged as I’d wait for the mailman, hoping and praying for just one letter from him. By that point I missed him so much, I began to imagine what he might write to me. I fantasized I’d receive a letter something like this:

Dear Mom,

Thank you so much for letting me go to camp. I have learned so many cool things, like how to take a fish off the hook, tie sailing knots, and even how to groom a horse. Thanks for packing the sunscreen. I’ve been out on the lake a lot, so it has really come in handy. You sure think of everything! Since it’s been so hot, I’ve been drinking tons of water! See? I really listen to all your good advice.

The other boys here are really smart and nice. I’m making some lifelong friends I will cherish forever. We’ve had fun learning camp songs, playing cards, and catching frogs in our free time. During quiet time, I read the book you sent along. What a great selection! And just because you’re my mom, I made a special gift for you in arts and crafts!

I’m trying a lot of new foods, just like you suggested. You were right, the oatmeal at breakfast really isn’t bad when I add raisins. And don’t worry, Mom, I’ve been using all the manners you’ve taught me over the years.

We are camping under the stars tonight. I hope to see fireflies.

I love you,

W

xxoo

P.S. Tell my brothers I miss them!

Yesterday I received a letter. It’s just slightly different from what I imagined:

This year I’m sending a whole book of stamps. I can’t wait for more letters!

7 Hilarious Pieces Of Vintage Dating Advice

Dating is the worst. As if it isn’t bad enough worrying about getting food particles stuck in your teeth, awkward silences, or having to eat something that just can’t be eaten gracefully, you also have to worry about proper pre and post-date etiquette.

Luckily, dating has gotten a little easier nowadays — or at least more convenient. We can let our technology do most of the dirty work. You send an email to see if your date is free Friday night. A quick follow up text after a great first date (no more three-day rule). A Facebook message to ask for a second date.

Unfortunately for earlier generations, they just didn’t have all these tools at their disposal. We think we have it hard, but dating the old-fashioned way was even worse. Luckily, they had something we don’t see very often today: self-help guides.

We’ve rounded up some of the most laughable dating advice from decades past for your viewing pleasure. Now be thankful you’re living in a digital world.

There were entire books written on the matter.

Maybe this was the original, “Why Men Love Bitches”

Kissing on the first date was a matter of serious deliberation…

Know what to lookout for boys…Ladies, whatever you do, don’t be alluring

Have plenty to talk about…

Make sure she doesn’t have daddy issues…

And don’t forget gals, once you catch him, you’ve got to keep him too

Hilarious Couple Shows Us It’s TOO Easy To Cut Your Wedding Guest List

Trying to narrow down your wedding guest list may seem like an impossible task at first. Consider all of the family, friends, family friends, neighbors, co-workers and ex-lovers who saw your engagement news on Facebook and are eagerly awaiting the invitation.

In a video posted to the Upright Citizens Brigade YouTube channel on Tuesday, comedians (and real-life couple) Laura Grey and Jordan Klepper discover that slashing the guest list isn’t quite as difficult as they thought.

Grounds for elimination include bra size (if bigger than bride’s), weird bangs, lack of black friends and a preference for the American version of “The Office.”

If you get cut, it’s nothing personal. Well, actually, maybe it is.

7 Hilarious Vine Videos Teach Us About Pidgin, The Humuhumunukunukuāpuaʻa, And Local Hawaiian Culture

For many visitors to Hawaii, it can be difficult to get a glimpse of the local color and culture. After all, if you stay in Waikiki for your whole vacation, you’ll never hear pidgin phrases like “da kine” — which can mean anything you want it to — or understand the local practice of only using the words mauka (mountain-side) and makai (ocean-side) when giving directions.

Thankfully, Hawaii Vines — a Facebook page that hopes to spread aloha with Hawaii humor — offers 7-second windows into the vibrant, fun-loving and diverse culture on the islands. Below, 7 of our favorites:

Allison Janney, Octavia Spencer Square Off In Hilarious ‘Mom’ Scene

Allison Janney has been killing it this fall between her heartbreaking dramatic work on “Masters of Sex” and her rib-splitting scene-stealing on “Mom.” This CBS sitcom is quickly becoming “The Allison Janney Show,” and this week provided the funniest scene yet. Janney was helped by an equally brilliant Octavia Spencer, who’s guest stint on this show is so strong we’re kind of rooting against that “Murder, She Wrote” reboot. Make her a regular cast member here, instead.

As Regina, Spencer has proven the perfect comic foil for Janney’s Bonnie. The two women do not like one another, and yet they keep finding themselves together. This week, Bonnie fell completely off the wagon after losing her apartment, job and car — the last she just can’t find. Christy enlisted the aid of Regina and Marjorie to help Bonnie sober up, but they couldn’t keep up with her. Wracked with guilt, Bonnie decided to help Christy with her burden.

This meant a hung-over and simply awful looking Bonnie showing up at the restaurant, where she literally tried to take over Christy’s job. She sweetly introduced herself to a table and when she couldn’t find them bread, she brought them an extra candle instead. Then, Marjorie and Regina caught up, but it was Regina’s impressive tackle of Bonnie that finally ended her ill-conceived attempt to help.

Allison Janney is making a strong case for “funniest woman on television,” and Octavia Spencer is proving a brilliant comedic partner. Here’s hoping the two share as many scenes as possible as “Mom” continues every Monday at 9:30 p.m. EST on CBS.
